Multi-stage Pathways

Plan beyond one decision point.

The platform now treats `Primary`, `Prep`, `Senior School`, and `University` as one continuous pathway model. The live data remains strongest at the senior school and university stages, while earlier stages are now integrated as formal planning layers.

How to read: Hover any node to see probability labels on every connected edge — e.g. 14.8% of St John's Beaumont pupils go to Eton, 32% of Winchester leavers go to Cambridge. Click any school name to open its detail page. Link thickness = pupil count.
Methodology & coverage
  • Prep → Senior (left → middle): Each link shows the cumulative number of leavers a prep has sent to a given senior school over the most recent 5–9 years (most schools publish a 6-year rolling total). Data is extracted from each prep's public "Where do leavers go / Future schools / Destination schools" page or annual PDF and manually reviewed. Confidence labels: verified (precise per-year counts), verified-list (school publishes the destination list but not pupil counts — values are placeholder weights), training-knowledge (estimate used when the school's page is inaccessible).
  • Senior → University (middle → right): Each link shows the actual number of pupils from that senior school admitted to the university in a single recent year (most rows are 2023/24 or 2024/25), sourced from each school's annual UCAS-style destinations report. The top N universities are kept by total flow.
  • Visual scaling when a prep is focused: When a single prep is selected, senior→university links are scaled by (prep → senior count) / (senior's total university outflow). Every link width then represents the expected number of that prep's pupils ending up at each university, rather than the senior school's entire cohort.
  • Preps with verified per-year counts (11): Summer Fields, Ludgrove, The Pilgrims', Papplewick, Cheam, St John's Beaumont, Thomas's Battersea, Sandroyd, Westbourne House, Cottesmore, Lockers Park. Verified-list (published list, no counts): Highfield & Brookham, Holmewood House. Remaining preps are shown with training-knowledge estimates.

The first feeder dataset is now in the API.

The platform now stores real prep-school pathway edges and evidence separately from the senior-school university layer. This keeps the early-stage expansion honest while still making the first official feeder samples queryable.

This foundation view shows how the product will handle multi-year student planning. The earlier phases are now part of the product model, even though live structured data is still concentrated later in the path.
